The Montreal-based band Bent by Elephants is a group difficult to pigeonhole. With dainty female vocals, flourishing horn arrangements and mellow acoustic instrumental accompaniments, the band has pioneered a unique sound for itself and is in the process of carving out a well-respected reputation as a provocative live act. Bent by Elephants released its debut EP in 2009 and the recording managed to perfectly encapsulate the band's characteristic sound that highlights lead singer Chesley Walsh's breathy vocals.
