Abstract Random is a three member dub, electro-hop and multi-media project based in Toronto. The group consists of Jamilah Malika, SunSun and Ayo Leilani, a trio of artists that focus on everything from rapping and poetry, to DJ'ing, painting and film production. Musically, Abstract Random creates trippy dub-heavy soundscapes that are livened up by booming hip-hop beats and psychedelic flourishes. The group's recordings and live performances attempt to focus on the liberating aspects of free-form creativity and a multifaceted outlook that uses its music as just one way of expressing its communal, positive message. The three members of Abstract Random are also active participants in 88 Days of Fortune, a large arts collective located throughout the Toronto area.
