Ever since the members of the Canadian indie rock band Beekeepers Society formed the group in 2007, the core members of the outfit knew they were onto something special. Managing to blend forthright instrumentation with oftentimes doleful lyrics, the group creates folk-influenced songs that tend to be more rewarding with each consecutive listen. By occasionally filling tracks with forward-thinking and futuristic-sounding synth arrangements, the band helps add layers of originality to its style, as well as contribute an overall sense of juxtaposition within the music--pairing neo-folk musical stylings alongside fairly electronic friendly instrumental accompaniments.
