Abstract Artform is the brainchild of Kid A, a Canadian rapper and producer from Winnipeg. As his work with the likes of Digable Planets and Jurassic 5 might suggest, his style is highly evocative of old-school hip-hop that looks back to the genre's vintage era. Abstract Artform combines retro soul samples with heavy amounts of hard funk influences that together combine to form an upbeat party-friendly style of music. Kid A raps with a deep and smooth delivery as he spins boastful rhymes about drinking beers with friends and his unabashed Canadian pride. His performances match the lively feel of his albums by incorporating a live drummer, bass player and backup singers.
