Drawing inspiration from rock-tinged hip-hop groups such as The Roots and The Beastie Boys, Montreal's Nation Ruckus (aka 4DZ, The Nation Crew) has become a popular underground rap act throughout Canada and beyond. Incorporating both electronic production and live instrumentation, DJ WiM and multi-instrumentalist Quality create songs that are heavy on hard-edged street swagger, while emcee Milk-E Fresh raps about societal ills and personal reflection. In the live setting, Nation Ruckus becomes a fully-formed, lively outfit full of keyboards, live drums and guitars. The group's rising reputation on the Canadian rap scene has earned it the chance to open for the likes of Big Boi, Ludacris and Talib Kweli.
