The Brooklyn What is a punk rock band from, as expected, Brooklyn, New York and comprised of six locals whose primary purpose is to reclaim the title of "Brooklyn band" from the many out-of-towner acts currently attempting to wrest the title away. Doing away with the many pretensions that tend to plague Brooklyn's current youth punk culture, The Brooklyn What resorts instead to rock and roll inspired punk to ensure its audiences are having a good time. Compared by critics to some of the early stalwarts of the punk rock genre, The Brooklyn What may not be driven to reach the same level of fame and influence attained by its punk predecessors, but the group very well may rise to these heights.
