David Barbarossa

David Barbarossa (aka Dave Barbe) is a drummer from London who is generally considered to belong to the pantheon of innovative British drummers that would go on to influence the development of rock and pop music throughout the 1980s and beyond. Focusing on developing the style of "tribal" drumming that achieved a cult following amongst drummers during the late 1970s and early 1980s, Barbarossa's tenure as the drummer for the bands Adam and the Ants and Bow Wow Wow went on to influence several artists, including Phil Collins and his breakthrough solo hit "In the Air Tonight." Although the drummer's skill and knowledge of the instrument remains stuff of legend, Barbarossa continues to wield influence upon many drummers and bands playing today.
