Sparked from frustrations with the limited capabilities of live instruments and his musical maturation beyond the rock and punk bands he was playing in, Insomniscene is a one-man psytrance DJ from the UK. Formed in 2006, the Manchester-native propels his songs with dark bass lines that serve as backdrop to trance-y synth swirls and relentless house music pulses. Admittedly influenced by drone and noise music, elements of these more experimental and sometimes jarring genres creep into Insomniscene's music from time to time, offering occasional hints of a sinister edge to his otherwise entirely dance-based music.
