English breakbeat duo Ben Ervine and Alex Shellard (known simply as Ben & Lex) have been quickly climbing the ranks of the UK electronic community, as evidenced by recent main stage performances at large-scale festivals such as Glade, and a sharing of bills with the likes of UNKLE, Wu-Tang Clan and Grandmaster Flash. With DJ sets that incorporate elements of several electronic sub-genres, from house to dubstep and bass music, the duo keeps the dance-floor on its toes in anticipation of which direction to go next. Ervine and Shellard operate their own record label called Ape Records, which allows them to release their own work, as well as remixes, collaborations and LPs from other UK-based electronic acts.
