The Workshy is an American jam rock and funk band from Ames, Iowa. Like most groups of its ilk, the five-piece thrives most in the live setting, where its lively grooves and long forays into psychedelic guitar solo sections have made it a popular act at various music festivals. Besides the funky rhythmic elements and the reliance on improvisation that is pulled from jazz music, The Workshy occasionally mellows its songs out to fall back on more folk and bluegrass related elements. All-in-all, however, the group is still known best for its ability to get jam rock listeners moving.
