About
Toumani Diabaté was brought to fame for his mastery of the kora, a traditional African string instrument. At the age of 13, he was already playing with some of the best traditional instrument orchestras in Mali. He has since performed with musicians such as Kandia Kouyaté and Ali Farka Touré. His debut album, Kaira, was released in 1987.
