Lightajo is a five-piece band that combines jam rock with fusion elements such as funk, jazz and progressive rock. The band formed in 2007 and is based out of the Memphis, Tennessee area, where it has developed a modest following of fans, consisting of those who enjoy lively, eclectic music. Metal-tinged guitar riffs occasionally pop up amidst the reggae influences and choppy funk strumming, as well. Like many bands of its ilk, Lightajo benefits from its members adept control over their instruments--a quality that yields opportunities for improvisation and experimentation.
