Formed originally in 1971 by Mr. Mann himself, the Earth Band is a lot less radio friendly than Mann's earlier project (known simply as "Manfred Mann"). The Earth Band took a much less poppy approach to music making, and focused instead on progressive jazz and experimental rock. They are also known for their frequent use of the Moog synthesizer.
