About

Pitom is a New York City-based outfit that fuses elements of traditional Jewish music and punk rock into a progressive jazz sound. Armed with a vision for a raucous but melodic music project, guitarist Yoshie Fruchter assembled the four-piece group in 2006. Th band spent two years playing shows and capturing its signature fusion sound before releasing its critically acclaimed eponymous debut album in 2008. Pitom released its follow-up LP Blasphemy and Other Serious Crimes, an homage to the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur, in 2012.
