Brass Heaven is an 11-piece jazz band from Philadelphia featuring legendary jazz trombonist Jeff Bradshaw. The band's brass-heavy ensemble is usually led by Bradshaw's trombone, but he leaves room for the trumpet, sousaphone and baritone to take over, occasionally steering the music in a softer or stronger direction. It's not uncommon for Brass Heaven to sport ten different types of horns on stage with only a single drummer whose smooth and rhythmic style that takes a backseat to the wind instruments. In 2006, only a year into forming the band, Brass Heaven played at the House of Blues in New Orleans, where its music convinced residents that the band was local. Brass Heaven's jazz is classic New Orleans jazz that is constantly evolving with the influences of blues, hip-hop and R&B genres.
