Shareese Renée Ballard is a modern soul singer who releases music under the stage name Res. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she blends indie pop, hip-hop and experimental rock into one sonic aesthetic. When she's not releasing her own solo records such as 2001's How I Do and 2017's Reset, she collaborates with Talib Kweli on his project Idle Warship.
