Zaide

Zaide is an incomplete opera composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart with a libretto by Johann Andreas Schachtner. Mozart began composing this German language piece in 1779 only to leave it midway and move on to a different Italian language opera. Zaide was discovered only after Mozart had passed away and wasn't published until 1938. It was performed almost two years after it was published. AT the center of the plot is a love triangle and explores personal freedom and misunderstandings among other themes.
