About
Katia Guerreiro’s love of music began when she came to the Azores islands of Portugal and played in a folk music group. When she attended the University of Lisbon, she rounded up students to form a band, of which she was the lead vocalist. It was not until 2000 that Guerreiro discovered Fado, a traditional style of Portuguese music. She released her debut album, Fado Maior in 2001.
