Not to be confused with the concert series put on by the British Broadcasting Company in England, Night of the Proms is a series of concerts held throughout Europe that was created by two Belgian students in 1985. Typically consisting of a combination of popular classical and pop music, Night of the Proms showcase several musicians and groups that are considered to be well-known in the countries where the concerts are held. Having grown to become one of Europe's most popular musical traditions since its inception, Night of the Proms is now the biggest annually organized indoor event on the continent.
