Paolo Conte has his own sound, a basic singer/songwriter style with an intricate and fun mix of jazz and folk. He is at home in a variety of genres, including folk, pop and jazz--rendering him somewhat of a timeless Italian treasure. He began writing songs with and for other artists in 1964, but his first solo album was self-titled and released in 1974.
