The Greater New Orleans Youth Orchestra started in 1994 with the intention of providing children who are interested in music with creative outlets to express themselves. Since its inception, the organization has grown into one of the most respected youth orchestras in the United States. Led by Dr. Jean Montes and comprised of over 200 youths from the age of 7 to 19, the orchestra plays everything from Tchaikovsky to cinematic scores and it performs on a regular basis.
