Nockalm Quintett

Nockalm Quintett is a folk pop band from Austria that creates a simple, melodic form of schlager. Founded in 1982, the outfit dropped its debut album Rund um Bad Kleinkirchheim, in 1984, but rose to fame with the release of 1987's Drei Finger auf's Herz. The band went on to capture a widespread fan base, particularly in Northern and Central Europe with various television appearances throughout the end of the decade and into the 1990s, when its sound transitioned into more listener-friendly pop. Though the band has seen its fair share of lineup changes, Nockalm Quintett continues to perform and release new material with founders Gottfried Würcher and Wilfried Wiederschwinger at the helm.
