Freiburger Barockorchester, also known as the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, is a symphonic orchestra that was founded in 1987. Based in Baden-Württemberg, Germany the orchestra is dedicated to introducing new sounds into the world of baroque music. Having made its first international performance in Amsterdam in 1989 and its first trip to the US in 1995, Freiburger Barockorchester now performs half of its concerts abroad. The musicians of the orchestra handpicked violinists Gottfried von der Goltz and Petra Müllejans from along themselves to serve as Musical Directors.
