Phillip Boa is a singer/songwriter and guitarist from Dortmund, Germany who is famous as the front man of Phillip Boa & The Voodooclub. Formed in 1985, the group rose to mainstream attention in 1988 with the new wave/punk rock album Hair. As he continued to write music with The Voodooclub, Boa also experimented in the realm of metal with his band Voodoocult, before cultivating all of his different sounds into his debut solo LP. Released in 1998, Lord Garbage offered a mixture of post punk, blues rock and alternative metal sounds.
