Leif Ove Andsnes is a Norwegian pianist who has earned a reputation as an ardent champion of the works of Edvard Grieg. He has won several international accolades for his work, including the 1987 Hindemith-Prize, the 1997 Preis der Deutschen Schallplattenkritik, the Royal Philharmonic Society Award from 2000. On top of his extensive discography of original compositions and classical recordings, he co-founded the Risør Festival of Chamber Music in 1991 and served as the festivals artistic director for nearly two decades.
