Gräfin Mariza is a three part operetta written by famed Hungarian composer Emmerich Kálmán in 1924. Taking place in Central Europe in the mid-1920s, the operetta tells the tale of a multifaceted love story and the complications that arise when two want to spend the rest of their lives together. Extremely popular during the time of its premier in Vienna, Gräfin Mariza also opened in New York and Paris in 1926 and 1938, respectively, to glowing critical applause.
