SITD, often stylized as [:SITD:], is a industrial electronic band that was initially formed in 1996 as Shadows in the Dark. Founded by Carsten Jacek and Thorsten Lau, the group released its first studio album Stronghold, in 2003. Blending electronic body music with elements from the industrial genre, SITD captured a devoted following with its dark, alternative music. With each subsequent album, from 2009's Rot to 2014's Icon:Koru, as well as its intense live performances, the band has expanded its reach across the world.
