Anthony Penaloza is an indie folk singer/songwriter and producer from Los Angeles who goes by the moniker Gus Black. He dropped his debut album, Gus, in 1996 but remained an underground indie voice for the next decade until the release of his 2006 album Autumn Days, which was featured under iTunes' Top 10 Best Indie Singer/Songwriter category. His follow up follow-up record Today Is Not the Day to Fuck with..., earned critical acclaim in Europe upon its release in 2008, and his music began to be featured on popular television program such as Smallville, Alias and Grey's Anatomy. Black also doubles as a director and oversaw the making of several of his own music videos as well as projects for other artists. He released his sixth studio album, The Day I Realized..., in 2011.
