About
Andrej Hermlin is a German pianist and bandleader. Hermlin received his first piano lessons when he was only seven years-old. After the Carl-von-Ossietzky-secondary school in Berlin, he continued his piano studies at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music from 1986 to 1990. It was during this time that he formed his first band, Swing Band Orchestra in 1986. While he was deeply immersed in studying piano, Hermlin's experience with swing music came directly from his tenure as bandleader of Swing Band Orchestra. Today, the Andrej Hermlin Orchestra has released more than ten albums and tours internationally.
