Die Entführung aus dem Serail (or, The Abduction from the Seraglio) is a opera in three acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The story involves the hero Belmonte and his assistant Pedrillo and their attempts to rescue Belonte's beloved Konstanze from the seraglio of Pasha Selim. The opera premiered in 1782 at the Vienna Burgtheater and although it is regarded as one of Mozart's lesser works, it is nevertheless well respected.
