Sol Gabetta is a classical musician who was born in Córdoba, Argentina to French and Russian parents. Widely known for her cello work, she left Argentina to study music in Spain, France and eventually Germany where she studied under David Geringas at the Hochschule für Musik in Berlin. As a teenager, Gabetta earned critical accolades as soloist at events such as the Lucerne Festival in 2004. Gabetta also received critical acclaim with ensembles including the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Scottish National Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.
