Hagen Rether is as a cabaret artist from Bucharest, Germany who is known for covering political, social and religious themes. Appearing on stage with a grand piano, a baseball bat and a dinner jacket, he entertains crowds with his quick witted opinions on globalization, media, consumerism, federal governments and international affairs, and supplies the soundtrack for these discussions with cheeky piano playing, which he modifies in tempo and key depending on what he's talking about. Some of his frequent targets include the Catholic Church, the German pop star Herbert Grönemeyer and former US President George W. Bush.
