Otto Waalkes (more simply known as just Otto) is a German performer known for his stand-up comedy as well as his roles in film and television. With his series of shows, books and movies, he became a prominent national figure throughout the 1970s and 1980s, winning audiences over with his easily-accessible sense of humor and charming personality. One of his biggest claims to fame is the creation of his 'Ottiphants,' little hand-designed elephant comic characters that Waalkes has used in much of his work.
