The Exploited emerged in 1978 out of the second wave of punk bands in the UK. Weaving hardcore punk, street punk, Oi! and crossover thrash into one sonic tapestry, the band rose to prominence in Scotland's with its intense live shows. The Exploited released its debut album Punk's Not Dead, in 1981, putting its anti-establishment ideals at the forefront of its music. The band has maintained its hardcore sound throughout a changing music landscape, releasing albums like Fuck the System, which was dropped in 2003.
