This play comes from the novel of the same name by A. Manzoni. Adapted for the stage (both lyric and dramatic), this story is well-known throughout Italy. A Sicilian attempts to better his life and make more money, getting himself into more mischief, of course. The North and South collide, as well as the bourgeois and the working class. This classic is worth a trip to the theater.
