Red Snapper is an alternative jazz band from the UK that formed in 1993. The band's minimal use of vocals allows its instrumental performances to shine. Red Snapper creates music with echoes of jazz, funk, hip-hop, breakbeat and psychedelic rock by utilizing both classic instrumentation and electronic programs. The band released its debut album, Prime Blimey, in 1964 to a fair amount of success and joined The Foo Fighters and The Prodigy on their Fat of the Land tour of the UK the following year. After releasing two more albums, Red Snapper disbanded in 2002 to focus on other musical projects. Only six years later Red Snapper reformed and began recording new material almost immediately. The band released its seventh studio album, a ghostly but cinematic effort titled Key, in 2011.
