Martin McDonagh's black comedy The Pillowman follows the story of Katurian, a short story writer whose grisly tales bare a striking resemblance to recent child murders. After he and his brother are brought in by the police for interrogation, forgotten and horrifying memories of their childhood resurface and explain Katurian's disturbed imagination. Critically acclaimed upon its debut in 2004, The Pillowman earned a slew of industry awards including the Olivier Award for Best New Play, the New York Drama Critics' Award for Best New Foreign Play and two Tony Awards.
