About
With half it's members from the Pacific Northwest and half from New York City, Widowspeak's music is a mixture of solemn vocals and gritty but subdued guitar hooks. Molly Hamilton, lead singer and songwriter, brings beautiful sadness to the band's music. Her passive and soft vocals are highlighted by the the minimal drums and moody guitar. The band's first self-titled album, released in the summer of 2011 under Captured Tracks, conveys an earnest longing with eerie undertones.
