Tim Kliphuis is a violinist from Utrecht who is known for making a blend of jazz and folk. After studying music in Amsterdam and earning acclaim as part of gypsy jazz guitarist Fapy Lafertin's quintet, he embarked on a solo career in 2004. Though he's classically trained musician, Kliphuis is famous for mixing world music with traditional jazz. With a massive discography that includes live records and studio albums like 2015's The Hilversum Sessions, Kliphuis has thrived in solo conditions and as the leader of his own band.
