Founded in 1965, The Turtles was one of the pioneering American bands to capitalize off the youth market's infatuation with pop music. Based out of Los Angeles, the group scored its biggest hit in 1967 with the well-known classic, "Happy Together." Though the group broke up in 1970, it reformed in 1983 and has since been touring semi regularly.
