Isis

Isis formed originally in Boston in 1997 under the guidance of Aaron Turner, and has since migrated to LA. The band's enormous guitar riffs are set off by long cascading periods of ambiance, frequently all in one song. With tracks often reaching into the seven minute range, Isis creates entire worlds within each piece, and usually tears them apart, too. Isis collaborates with other bands, and have a fluid lineup that could include members of other favorites such as Pelican, Old Man Gloom, and Red Sparrowes, always creating heavy stuff.
