The Smiths Indeed is an cover band from Liverpool that honors the music, clothing and attitude of the 1980s band The Smiths. The group formed in 2005 and after its first show in Glasgow the same year, it began building a reputation for lively and authentic live shows. Although no one can truly replicate Morrissey's voice, vocalist J. Wendelen gives a worthy effort at imitating the deep and distinguished voice of The Smiths' lead singer. The band does an excellent job of putting its own twist on all of The Smiths greatest hits, changing bass lines and guitar riffs just enough to be noticeable. The Smiths Indeed often close their live sets with the song "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out, an obvious crowd-pleaser that serves as the best reminder for why the music of The Smiths lives on.
