The Ruby Suns is an indie pop band from New Zealand that was formed in 2004 when Calfornian musician Ryan McPhun moved to Auckland and met fellow musicians Imogen Taylor and Amee Robinson. Opting to pursue a fairly minimalist instrumental approach to their song composition, instead relying heavily on harmonies and hooks, The Ruby Suns has managed to catch listeners ears fairly easily with its twee sound. The band's third album, Flight Softly, was released in 2010 by the well respected indie label Sub Pop and the LP was received well by fans and critics alike.
