The Rippingtons is a contemporary smooth jazz ensemble from Southern California. Formed in 1986 by band leader Russ Freeman, the group started off as a jazz/rock band and morphed slowly into the smooth jazz genre since the end of the 1990s. With a discography of well over a dozen albums, The Rippingtons has consistently toured and recorded new music for multiple generations of jazz fans.
