About

Hailing from Waukesha, Wisconsin, The BoDeans is an alternative rock band that was formed in 1983 by co-vocalists Kurt Neumann and Sam Llanas. With Neumann on electric guitar and Llanas on acoustic guitar, the musicians found drummer Guy Hoffman and bassist Bob Griffin before signing to Slash/Warner Records as the BoDeans. The band began recording at the Sunset Sound Factory in Hollywood and released its debut album Love & Hope & Sex & Dreams in 1986. Despite the album receiving critical acclaim, Hoffman left the band later that year and the BoDeans have since been unable to keep a drummer for longer than a few years. The remainder of the 1980s brought continued success to the band, who supported U2 on The Joshua Tree Tour and whose sophomore album, Outside Looking In, released in 1987, was produced by Talking Heads member Jerry Harrison. After a brief hiatus in the late-1990s, The BoDeans returned in 2004 with its anticipated seventh album, Resolution. After failing to show up to a concert in 2011, Llanas left The BoDeans, citing years of creative differences. With Neumann as its only original member, The BoDeans continues to play and release new music.
