Adapted from the 1970 classic novel of the same name, The Bluest Eye is the gut-wrenching story of a young Pecola Breedlove and her battle with her identity. The story traces the wounds of racism in 1940s America. All Pecola ever wants is to be loved by her family. She loathes her skin color as she realizes that her fair-skinned family and classmates are much loved and held in high regard. All she wishes for are those blue eyes as they are associated with fair skin. Along with racism the plot also explores hidden details like molestation, religion and violence among other grave topics that infest society at large.
