Based in Straubing, Germany, Straubing Spiders is an American football club that competes in the South Division of the German Football League 2. Founded in 1984 the club started off in the Regionalliga Süd and were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga at the end of the season. The club would stay in the the second division until 1992, when they were relegated for the first time. It continued to perform well over the years, but is yet to rise beyond the GFL2.
