Stanley Jordan is an American fusion jazz artist who is credited with developing a now common finger tapping technique on electric guitar. Born in Chicago in 1959, he began studying music early, taking piano lessons as the age of six. By 11, he'd switched to guitar, the instrument he would leave his mark on in the coming decades. With his shifty forays into several styles of jazz music combined with a breezy pop sensibility, Jordan's music has found a following with a wide breadth of fans in the music world. Furthermore, his two hand tapping techniques have forever changed the art of the electric guitar solo in a wide variety of genres.
