Seu Jorge is a Brazilian singer/songwriter and guitarist who was raised in a favela known as Belford Roxo, near Rio de Janeiro. Becoming homeless at the age of 19, Jorge's musical talent managed to flourish nevertheless and he became a well known performer in his favela. Honing in and building a reputation as a Brazilian pop samba musician, Jorge would eventually release his debut album, Samba Esporte Fino, in 2001.
