About

Say Goodnight Gracie is a classic Broadway production that traces the life of comedian George Burns from his childhood in Manhattan throughout his relationship with his wife Gracie Allen. The one-man show was written by Rupert Holmes and originally directed by John Tillinger during the show's 2002 Broadway run at the Helen Hayes Theatre. Say Goodnight Gracie ran for 364 performances, making it Broadway's third longest running one-man show starring Frank Gorshin as Burns and featuring Didi Conn's pre-recorded voice as Allen. The play, chronicling Burns' lustrous career and his provocative first encounter and relationship with Allen, tells an intimate, tender and hilarious true-life love story that earned Holmes a Tony Away nomination for Best Play in 2003.
